WestSide Action started as a small idea scribbled on a napkin somewhere on the west coast... salty air, sun going down, that perfect mix of freedom and chaos. We wanted to build a travel agency that feels alive, not stiff. A place for people who crave real adventures, not staged postcard moments.

Our Story

WestSide Action wasn’t born in an office. It started somewhere near the ocean, with backpacks tossed on the sand and a couple of us arguing about which trail to hit next. That messy mix of freedom, sun, and road dust became the spark. We wanted to build a travel agency that didn’t feel like a cliché. No stiff brochures, no cookie cutter tours, no fake smiles. Just real adventures, tested by real people.
Over the years we traveled a lot (maybe too much), got lost a few times, and found places that felt like home for a minute. That’s how our idea grew into a real company, with real clients who share the same itch to explore.

Travel isn’t a checklist for us. It’s movement, adrenaline, new faces, weird food, unexpected sunsets, and that feeling when your heart jumps a bit because you are somewhere you’ve never been before.
We believe adventures don’t have to be extreme to matter, but they should at least make you feel alive. Whether you surf your first wave, hike your tenth mountain, or just wander a wild city until your feet hurt, we want you to remember it.
Our philosophy is simple: go places that change you, even a little.

What We Do

We create adventure focused travel experiences: surf trips, mountain hikes, island hopping tours, wild city explorations, backpack expeditions, rafting journeys, and mixed adrenaline trips that combine everything.
Each tour is built for people who want a bit more action than a typical vacation. We give you freedom and guidance at the same time, so you can explore without feeling lost. You get the routes, the contacts, the safety tips, the best hidden spots, and enough time to wander off if you feel like it.
Our job is to set the stage. Your job is to live it.

We’re based in Altoona, Iowa, on Bass Pro Dr, which is kinda funny because most people expect us to be sitting in some beach hut. But the truth is, home doesn’t have to be near the ocean to dream big.
Still, our spirit is half west coast: wide skies, open road, surf vibes, freedom. That feeling stays with us no matter where we work from.
